Team Santos Goes 2-0 at Bay Area Combat

Team Santos Jiu Jitsu stand out fighter Joe Kropschot needed only 44 seconds to earn his fifth victory in as many attempts as the main event at Bay Area Combat in Vallejo on Saturday. Teammate Sal Osorio also earned the win in his debut fight, ending it at 1:13 of the first round as well.

Osorio fought first, taking on Eugenio Garcia. Within seconds of the opening bell, Osorio hit Garcia with a massive double leg take down, lifting Garcia high into the air and dumping him to the canvas and smothering him. After backing out and standing over his downed opponent and landing a few kicks, Osorio re-engaged on the ground and quickly took his opponents back, sinking in a rear naked choke and forcing the tap at 1:13 of the first round.

Kropschot fought in the main event against highly ranked contender and undefeated opponent Noah Christy for the Bay Area Combat middleweight title at 185 pounds. After the bell Kropschot quickly got to work, snapping of a flurry of punches and kicks that clearly affected his opponent, forcing Christy to shoot for a takedown. Kropschot was having none of it as he tossed Christy to the canvas and quickly started working brutal ground and pound, forcing his opponent to roll over and cinching in a rear naked choke at 0:44 of the first round, forcing the tap.
